MonoBridge

How a new industry is added

Before any owner in a new industry runs a report, MonoBridge researches that industry, builds its tree of operating numbers, and freezes its benchmarks into a versioned policy.

From an industry code to a frozen policy

Every industry MonoBridge covers gets its own dossier before any owner in it runs a report. The dossier is research; the policy is what the engine actually reads. Keeping them apart is what makes two reports a year apart comparable.

  1. Place the codeWhere the code sits among its siblings, its official definition, and a screening test that tells one firm which code it belongs in.
  2. Split the economiesFind the different kinds of business sharing the code, so benchmarks describe a real company.
  3. Grade the benchmarksKeep, correct or quarantine every inherited metric, and add the ones the industry really runs on.
  4. Build the treeHang the industry’s operating numbers beneath the valuation core’s inputs, each with its direction and size of effect.
  5. Freeze the policyCopy the medians and tests into a versioned policy table. From then on, new research can’t move a value without a recorded policy change.

Where the questions come from

The questionnaire is generated from the dossier’s tree. That’s why every question names the part of the valuation it feeds, and why its “moves your value by” range is the dossier’s middle band for your kind of business.

How sources are graded

  • Well supportedAgency data, company filings and rule text.
  • Moderately supportedPractitioner, vendor and trade press, with optimism bias noted.
  • Use with cautionAggregators and listings. No benchmark rests on these alone.

Versions and pins

  • Pinned. Each dossier is built against one version of the valuation core and records it. A dossier built for an older core keeps its pin until it is rebuilt.
  • Frozen. The engine reads the policy table, not the dossier. A dossier band cannot move a value without a policy change.
  • Recorded. A policy change is logged with its version, so the next report’s bridge shows it as a method update, never as your work.
